▲▲▲ Collects data from all the iPhone sensors ▲▲▲

This is the sensor data collection app for people who are serious about their data collection. Used widely across both commercial and academic labs. Easy to use, accurate, and captures data from all of the IOS sensors.

▲ The latest app within the Wavefront Labs Data Collection series. The often requested, long-awaited app that collects and integrates all sensors, including the i3D Gyro data.

▲ Collects data from all the sensors including the 3D Gyro
▲ Integrates the 3D Accelerometer data with the 3D gyro data to provide accurate attitude, rotation, and user acceleration data.
▲ Collects data from the GPS including location, altitude, speed, and course.
▲ Collects data from the proximity sensor

Data collected includes:
▲ 3D Accelerometer: X, Y, Z acceleration

▲ 3D Magnetometer and Compass
▲▲ Magnetic and true heading
▲▲ 3D magnetic fields (microTeslas)

▲ Integrated Accelerometer and Gyro data
▲▲ Attitude: pitch, roll, yaw
▲▲ Attitude: Quaternion
▲▲ Attitude: 3x3 rotation matrix
▲▲ Gravitational acceleration X, Y, Z vector
▲▲ User acceleration X, Y, Z vector
▲▲ Rotation rate

▲ Location and GPS
▲▲ Latitude / longitude
▲▲ Course / speed
▲▲ Altitude

▲ Proximity Sensor

** Two collection Modes **

▲ Capture Mode - Captures data to files stored within the device Flash filesystem.
▲ Streaming Mode - Real-time sensor data streamed to another computer with UDP packets.

▲▲ Other Features

▲ Supports data file transfer through iTunes File Sharing
▲ Internal web server allowing you to easily view and transfer collected sensor data files to another computer.
▲ Library manager within the app to allow you to easily view and manage captured sensor data within the app.
▲ Configurable sample rates from 1 to 100 Hertz.
▲ Configurable number of samples
▲ Data captured and transferred as CSV (comma separated) values for easy integration into spreadsheets and other data analysis software.

Note: Some devices dont have all sensors.

Note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Worthless
Agree with the first reviewer. 100% failure
Does what it says on the tin
This works great. The best part of this app is that it streams data over UDP, so that you can get a stream of data realtime, which is fun if youre tying this into a Processing patch or some other script. It does crash every once in a while, but never _during_ data collection, so Im otherwise pretty happy with it.
Amazing app
Incredible how much data is collected, I can imagine a thousand uses for this app.
Great and very useful
I was looking for a cheap and easy data collection tool for record speed and acceleration rate for calibrating traffic simulation models. This application is just what I have wanted. The interface is well done and gives you the options to select and record/stream only the data items of your interest and at the frequency you need. It works right at my first try and so far no problem found yet. I recorded a 10 miles trip this afternoon and checked speed profile. The effect of speed humps, stop signs, traffic lights, and a truck I had to follow for awhile can be clearly identified. The profile of the altitude seems also makes sense, but I have not analyze its accuracy yet. The only issue I see so far is that the GPS data such as lon/lat/alt and speed is collected at 1hz even though rest of data is at 10hz (up to 100hz supported). I guess that this might be a limitation of iPhone or Mac OS rather than Wavefront Labs Sensor Data program. One suggestion I would like to make for its next version is to allow saving data in binary format, which would increase accuracy and reduce file size or data to be transmitted from iPhone to the server.
Needs a Real Time - Time Stamp
This app Needs a Real Time and Date- Time Stamp, not just an elapsed time stamp starting at zero. It also crashes frequently but generally not when gathering data.
